This notice is to let you know that in response to Governor Ned Lamont’s March 23 Executive Order, IEA will remain closed until April 20 for the health and safety of our students and staff. As mentioned in earlier correspondence, we expect our calendar to remain unchanged due to our implementation of Distance Learning. As such, April 10 (Good Friday) and April 13-17 (April Vacation) will remain as vacation days.
While we are disappointed to not be returning to the classroom as soon as we had hoped, we have confidence that the support of our teachers and related services providers, along with the Distance Learning that has been started, will allow our students to continue to learn and grow until our return to the school. By now, everyone has received our Distance Learning guidelines, and has been in communication with their teacher regarding specific expectations for their classroom. As circumstances and your child’s needs evolve, please remain in regular communication with your child’s teacher and related services team. We understand that this is a new way of learning for many of our students and their families, so if you are having difficulty with any of the technology, please visit our resources page for some helpful “how to” guides or reach out to Sister Kristen by email at email@example.com or by phone at 860-236-2049 x 119.
Please note that in response to the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order, the IEA building is now closed and accessible by appointment only by emailing Sonia at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the school at 860-236-2049 x 110. Ms. Allen is actively delivering materials to families who still need them. All materials should be delivered by the end of the week. Should you find your child needs additional materials or needs to return materials, please reach out to your teacher who will make arrangements with Ms. Allen..
As we know, this situation continues to change on a daily basis. We will continue to provide updates as they are necessary, but please do not hesitate to reach out with questions should they arise.
