News & Events

Below we will share the current cases of isolation and quarantine for IEA students and staff. These numbers will be updated Monday - Friday at noon.

When we have a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in our school community, the person will remain in isolation at home, and we will  notify parents and staff in writing. We will work with the Health District on contact tracing. Anyone who is a close contact will be notified by Department of Public Health that they need to quarantine at home for a period of time to avoid potential spread.

Students or staff may be in quarantine because they have been in contact with a person who tested positive and are not experiencing symptoms. They are staying home as a precaution. These numbers will be report on the chart below.

IEA Staff/Students in Quarantine 8
IEA Staff/Students in Travel Quarantine 1
Positive COVID-19 cases 2

About the data:

Students and staff who are a participating fully in Remote Learning will not be included on the dashboard

These numbers include any student or staff who we have been informed are under quarantine, regardless of where their exposure occurred. These numbers also do not include anyone who is remaining home out of an abundance of caution, without an identified need to officially quarantine, or those awaiting test results. For privacy concerns, the student and staff numbers are combined.

Quarantine and travel quarantine are two different types of quarantine. Each number represents separate individuals. (The quarantine number does not include the travel quarantine cases.)

Cases are removed when the individual is cleared to return to school or work.

The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) and the Department of Public Health (DPH) have published an updated version of Addendum 4 to Adapt, Advance, Achieve: Connecticut’s Plan to Learn and Grow Together – Updated Guidance for Decision-Making Regarding the Use of In-Person, Hybrid (Blended), or Remote Learning Models. This updated Addendum expands public health metrics to support local decision-making with regards to school operations.

Addendum 5 further clarifies when quarantine or isolation is recommended.
